Northern road trips are better with the dog. Here's how to do Grande Prairie with pets, smoothly.

Book the right room

We keep designated pet-friendly rooms — up to two pets, at a fee of $25 CAD per night — so call 1-780-814-9446 rather than booking online to be sure you're assigned one. Note that jacuzzi suites aren't pet rooms.

Where to walk

The Bear Creek trails through Muskoseepi Park are close by and run year-round; the city also maintains off-leash parks for a full-speed run. Winter walkers: paw wax or booties genuinely help below −15°C, and watch for sidewalk salt.

Road tips

Highway 43 is long — plan stops at Whitecourt and Valleyview for water and leg-stretches. Every room here has a fridge for raw or wet food, and the front desk can point you to nearby vets and pet stores if the trip throws a surprise.
